Why train with us ?

We thought it better to show you some of our members views on Why they decide to train with us.

"I started training with Resolute BJJ about a year and a half ago. I was at a place in my life where I needed to learn to be able to defend myself, was unhappy with my weight and low level of fitness. I was encouraged to attend a class at Resolute BJJ and although I was apprehensive, I went along. I was curious about what Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu was and, having never really been into striking, I was pleasantly surprised to learn that it was a grappling art.

That isn't where my BJJ journey began though... due to some major life changes, I was unable to commit at the time. By that point, I knew something was missing and that something was BJJ.

There is something about this martial art that hooks you in from the start, for me it was a sense of community and being accepted into a family that have your best interests at heart.

The dedication and support from the coaches is relentless and they are always on hand to work through any issues you are having both on and off of the mats. Each of the teachers spend a huge amount of time improving the team as a whole through classes and seminars, and alongside that, they know your personal goals and your limitations which enables them to deliver a tailored programme to get the best out of you.

As a part of Resolute you can be confident in the teaching from the coaches; their knowledge of the sport and it's lineage is second to none.

Since returning to BJJ a little over a year ago, I have met a lot of amazing people, my confidence has thrived and I feel a lot fitter. I have also lost about 10kg so far as a result!

Training BJJ with Resolute has had a huge impact on the quality of my life, it is something I couldn't live without now.

Whether you are a complete beginner or have taken part in any kind of martial art before, I would recommend Resolute BJJ to anyone".

"I've trained with Resolute BJJ for a few years now, they're a great club who put a lot of effort into making the club friendly and welcoming to anyone who wants to train including beginners, experienced martial artists, or visitors to Cornwall who want to get their training fix.

The club promotes an ego-free, informal, and relaxed atmosphere; it doesn't matter who you are or where you come from.

If you want to learn a martial art and have fun doing it with a group of people who all want to learn and improve themselves, you will find it at Resolute BJJ. Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is a challenging and rewarding sport, I started training it because I wanted a martial art that taught me how to defend myself against an resisting opponent, where I could actually practice the moves and see firsthand that they worked.

It will push you physically and mentally beyond your limits and give you back what you put into it!"

"I started training at resolute over a year ago and can honestly say its the best thing I've done.

Initially for the fitness, confidence and self-defense aspects, but it has become much more than this.

I love my training with the team and the strong sense of family you get from all the guys and girls that i've never found anywhere else".

Lewis, 22, Handy Man.

"I've been training with Mark on and off for over 8 years in one form or another and can say that he is one of the best teachers I have had. He is dedicated to martial arts and his students and the name Resolute is definitely apt for the club.

I have trained in various martial arts but the one I keep coming back to is jiu jitsu, it is in my opinion the most complete, real, and effective martial art,  not only in it's practicality but also in its philosophy and how it carries across into your daily life.

Resolute is an excellent club with an assortment of crazies, if it's true what they say that you are only as good as the people you train with, then I must be pretty awesome!"
